I’ve always had the impertinence to challenge any ‘gendered’ limitations I perceive in my life. Whether actually gendered or not, I take it as a personal challenge.
So while no one ever told me I shouldn’t tile and caulk my bathroom, I felt that by not doing it myself I was letting an implicit assumption about girls and DIY continue to live.
I also don’t believe there’s anything you can’t learn on the internet.
I had two in-depth conversations with my DIY guy, and well, I did it and it fucking rocked.
